A Rose of a Different Color

I don't believe I had ever seen a lavender rose before, but now I have. This is a difficult color to photograph.

It's forecast to freeze here in two or three more days for the first time this fall. This may be "the last rose of summer".

A Gaggle of Canada Geese Heading South

These are the same geese as in the previous photo. I surprised them on a small pond near the Botanical Garden a few miles from my home. I was using a 640 mm telephoto lens on my Canon 20D digital camera. 

Fast Get Away

I surprised these canada geese that were swimming on a small pond close to my home and they took flight. The slow shutter speed and my panning to follow their flight resulted in this surrealistic photo which I feel expresses the haste of their departure.

A little honey bee still hard at work in a patch of daisies on a warm and sunny November 1st, 2005. 

A perfect rose

We have not had our first frost yet and the flowers seem to be flourishing in the cooler weather. I love the two shades of this rose.
