Early Spring in Utah

Spring is finally near in Northern Utah. The ice has retreated from this small pond in the Kaysville Ponds Park, a small nature perserve on the edge of Kaysville, Utah. Busy Interstate I15 lies about 50 feet to the west (the right side of the photo).

There are already dozens of ducks and geese using the pond. A little later the pelicans will come. Posted by Picasa

The miracle of flight

This seagull was hovering over me as I was photographing other birds at the Kaysville Ponds Park March 11, 2006. I am fascinated by birds and their ability to fly without a machine wrapped around them. And where do they put their legs? Posted by Picasa
