The red wing blackbird is very skittish and it's hard to get close enough to photograph one. The yellow head version is less fearful and I have several good shots of them, but this is finally a good photo of the red wing.
This photo is the only time that I recall that all of us were together at one time. Front row, left to right: Kenneth, David, Dad, Ronald. Back row, left to right: Richard, and Lewis.
I think this wasp is confused and thinks that it's a honey bee. It was flying from flower to flower, apparently dining on polen, or maybe just attracted to the bright yellow flowers.
These are the buds of a flowering bush that is in back of my condo. The signs of Spring are everwhere and they are sure welcome. This has been a trying winter for me.
Usually a mallard drake will be with a female, but these two stayed t ogether for the thirty minutes or so that I observed them. Maybe they're siblings, or maybe.....
