The brightest moon of the year 2010. Known as a "Wolf Moon" because native Americans claimed that the wolfs would always howl when the moon came up, it is so bright because it is a full moon during the the time when the moon is closest to the earth in its orbit. (Taken with a Canon 40D, Canon 100-400mm @ 900mm equivelant.)

Wow! Really, really beautiful. Did you take this last night? through the smog? Or before? It was a big beautiful moon last night.

I took it the first night it was a full moon, through the haze and smog. If it had been a Cowley sky I was looking through it would have been clearer.

Does this mean that the moon really isn't made of cheese? I wasn't sure until now. ;.) Wink!
Great shot.

Wow! That's great. Every time I try to take a moon picture I end up with a black photo with a fuzzy white center...
