I went to the Hill AFB air museum a couple of days ago. I was happy to see they have a well preserved North American T-39 there. This was the last aircraft that I flew before I retired. Pretty, don't you think?

I just can't imagine flying in one of these. I remember going up in Uncle Lou Shurtliff's little plane once and being so afraid. Wayne was a pilot too and we flew from Billings to the Cowley airport. I fly because I like to get to places quickly but with all the security measures and all the waiting at airports,it takes so long and maybe I wish I could just climb into this jet and go. (although I really just don't like to fly at all) I came here in Wayne's boss' plane once and we hit turbulance so hard I pulled the curtain off the window. I don't think Dad has ever been in a plane except Uncle Lou's.

Joan, you are braver than I. I wouldn't have flown with Lou Shurtliff, knowing how rambunctious he was. Now I am a cautious and safe pilot! I never as much as scratched an airplane in nearly 4000 hours of flying, including 100 combat missions. (And, I might add, I don't much like flying in little single engine airplanes..to bouncy.)

Probably when we get back from the park.
